The 2005 Goodguys Car Show at West World, over 2,000 custom cars and trucks signed in for the two day show. A week prior to the show, Cole's '50 Ford Truck still not complete, the truck needs the fuel tank installed under the bed, the bumpers aren't done, there's a problem with the door window, wiring not completed & wheels and tires haven't arrived yet. We just started talking seriously about entering the truck in the show. Still doubtful if we can make it. As the truck starts coming together our hopes and dreams are increasing everyday. When the wheels and tires get here and we see the truck for the first time, basically complete, now we're excited.

On Friday Cole works til midnight to finish up. The truck has to be trailer to the event due to the fact it hasn't been licensed in 23 years. So at about 5am we're loaded up and headed for the big show. I turn on the radio and the Grateful Dead come on singing "Keep on Truckin". Kind of freaked us both out. We stop and fill up with gas and get to the parking lot where there are numerous other cars and trucks on trailers so we don't feel so bad not driving it all the way down there. Cole fires it up and people all around turn their heads when they hear that rumbling sound. There's about a mile long line but it's moving. Some of the coolest rides around. Very few mufflers. As we get checked in we park down on the grass area with all of the others.

Cole keeps the dust off the black paint all day as hundreds of people stop by look, talk, point and take pictures. Late in the afternoon the Publisher of Street Rod Magazine stops by, talks to Cole and tells him to send some pictures to him. A while later some guy from Classic Truck stops by says he's been hearing about the truck all day. He talks to Cole for awhile and tells him he's picked as top 10 Classic Truck and that he'll need to park up on top on Sunday that's where all the show winners will be. What a day.

We returned on Sunday morning and drive in this time we show them our pass and they drop the barrier so we can park in the winners area. We are parked with the top 10 trucks that are in front of Boyd Top 10 Street Rods and also surrounded by Street Rod of the Year, Muscle Car of the Year and Truck of the Year. Pretty good company as the day goes on there's more pictures, pointing and looking going on. At about 2:30 alot of the spectators start to line up for what is the "Parade of Winners". All the cars that we're with us start up and head out for the parade one by one. As you pass the announcer tells who owns it and what it is. Cole gets the trophy for Classic Truck. We head out and loaded it on the trailer for the ride home. What a weekend. Totally unexpected but as we we're told over and over that it was one of the nicest F1 Pickups ever. Check out the pictures.

Cole and his dad started on this project 4 1/2 years ago. It's been slow but well worth it. Now it's time to put it on the road.
