It’s starting to get warm out here in the desert. Sprint cars, Mini Sprints and Dwarf cars on schedule for tonight. Cole draws a #5 pill. This puts him on the poll in the 4 th heat. After last week, we check the line up more than once for any changes. In the heat, the outside car jumps the start and probably should have been called back but didn’t. Cole stayed with him for a couple laps then was passed by the 3rd place car. There was a spin about half way through which bunched up the cars. On the restart Cole got a good jump. He couldn’t pass but nobody else could get around him. He finished in 3 rd. So for the 2 nd week in a row he’s in the main.

Tonight they had to run a concy to make it to the semi and then on to the main. It’ll be a long night for most but we’re in the main right out of the heat race. Line up for the main Cole’s in the 6 th row outside. As the race starts he some how finds himself in the back. The race stays green. He works his way back up. The front row guy now have caught him. It’s Bob Ream Jr. & Jeramy Sherman. Cole is on the bottom of the track and fast, Ream and Sherman at the top for a good 7 to 8 laps. They can’t pass him. He actually pulls them down the straight. Then with 3 laps to go they get by as a yellow comes out. Bad news for Cole, because now he’s a lap down and no way to pass anymore cars. He finished 16 th. Good experience for him, hopefully he’s learning and can improve, but still there were a lot of cars in the pits watching the main.

In two weeks it’s Midget time at Manzy. The care is still not finished. Hopefully we can get it to practice Tuesday before the race. We made a lot of changes to the Ellis car for this year. The fresh Balley Ford has more horse and more torque than before. Cole will miss the Sprint car race on the 9 th. It’s Prom night at the High School. You can’t miss him he’ll probably be in the back.
