First 100 degree day at Manzy. On schedule tonight is Sprint cars, Midgets and Modifieds. Sprint and Midgets on the small track, modifieds on the 1/2 mile. Standing in line at the back gate we're asked if we are racing both cars. No. Just the Midget. We need to consentrate on one class at a time. We believe the Midget is our best chance of doing well.

23 Midgets signed in for tonight., It was anounced at the drivers meeting we'll run them all in the Main. Another underwelming pill draw, 49 out of 50. Assuring us of a back row start. We finished 5th in the heat. Car seems ok. We were the last of the heat race and first main event of the night. Not much time inbetween races. We tightened the Ellis race car up a little and planned on running the bottom.

We are in the fifth row outside. Cole gets a pretty good start and moves down to the bottom. The car is hooked up as he is pulling both front wheels up comming out of turn 4. Several accidents. Two of them brought out the red . We went out on the track for the first red. Cole says, "Man this thing is fast, did you see that wheelie?" I said, "Yeah, but I want to see you pass some cars. Let's go." On the last restart he starts moving up. With 3 cautions and 2 reds the Track decides to cut our race to 15 laps. As Cole is catching the front runners we run out of time. He finishes 6th. A pretty good night over all. We just need a better pill draw. Next up is High School Graduation for the driver. No race scheduled this weekend. It's up to Prescott for our first race of the year there, May 28
